The Hague Walking Tour
Tour Details
Our guided tour of The Hague will start at 131 Paviljoensgracht Street, where we'll meet at your chosen time.
On this 3-mile (5-kilometre) walking tour, we'll explore the main sights in the Netherlands' administrative capital. First, we'll head to the Binnehof, which is a large complex of buildings that we'll be able to see from the Hofvijver lake.
You'll see how the Binnehof houses both the Prime Minister's office and the two bicameral seats of the States General of the Netherlands. Within the complex, we'll also find the Ridderzaal (Hall of Knights), a large gothic building in which the annual state opening of the Parliament has its opening session on the third Tuesday of September. This event is always presided over by the Dutch monarch, who gives a speech from the throne.
After learning some fascinating facts about the Dutch monarchy, we'll continue our tour to the Vredespaleis (Peace Palace). This monumental building is the seat of the International Court of Justice, as well as other institutions dedicated to the protection of human rights around the world.
We'll then stroll to Noordeinde Palace, one of the Dutch royal family's three official residences. This building in particular is usually used as the monarch's office. Other institutional events, which we'll discuss during the tour, also take place here.
Following 2 hours 30 minutes of history and unforgettable monuments, we'll return to the meeting point and finish the tour.
